Open Call to Promote Olive Oil in Europe’s Schools

According to COMMISSION IMPLEMENTING REGULATION (EU) No 615/2014 of 6 June 2014 laying down detailed rules for the application of Regulation (EU) No 1306/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council and Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council in respect of work programmes to support the olive oil and table olives sectors.


The promotion programme initially funding:


— costs for organizing tasting classes, setting up and maintenance of gardening sessions, organization of farm visits and similar activities aimed at connecting children with agriculture,


— costs for measures aimed at educating children about agriculture, healthy eating habits and environmental matters related to the production, distribution and consumption of fruit and vegetable products,


— costs for measures that are carried out in order to support the distribution of products and that are in line with the objectives of the School Fruit and Vegetables Scheme.


Exoptron is the first and only Documentary production company that has applied to the program “Promotion Olive Oil in Europe’s Schools”. Our recently released documentary production entitled Olive Tree: The Gift of the Goddess, 3 episodes 25 min each is the ideal tool for this purpose. The 1st episode of the documentary series is dedicated to the Olive Tree. The 2nd episode to the Olive Fruit and the 3rd to the Olive Oil.


The producer and director of the documentary Mr. Vangelis Tremopoulos said that Exoptron are currently at the final stage of post production to add 3 new episodes in the series The Gift of the Goddess. The 4th episode, entitled Olive Oil Novelties, will present the newest discoveries and techniques on olive oil research. The 5th episode is dedicated to 5 rare olive oil recipes from the Mediterranean basin. The 6th episode is entitled Oliveconomy presenting the parallel economy of the olive oil sector.


Exoptron proposed to the European committee three ways to promote the Extra Virgin Olive Oil and table olives through the documentary.


1. One DVD with the documentary for any pupil or student. In this way, the promotion material will be transferred to millions of families.


2. One USB stick with the Documentary in Digital Video File accessible from a pc, laptop, tablet TV etc.


3. A Free Pass Code for any pupil or student to watch the documentary online with their family. In that way, a leaflet explaining the European Programme could be distributed as well.
